Geldenhuys Slagtery was established in 1948 by the Geldenhuys family – hence the name.

Ironically enough, new owners with the same last name took over the butchery in (year).
Hennie (better known as Oom Hempa and father to well-known singer, songwriter & comedian, Pietman Geldenhuys) and Hester Geldenhuys poured over 20 years of love and dedication into Geldenhuys Slagtery.

They created traditions and recipes that are still available & very popular at the butchery.

JB Erasmus and his wife Terese bought the business in August 2014, kept the name and created a true local gem.
They run the business with a philosophy of quality goods, friendly customer service and community-centered values catering to all people in our vibrant community.
